Just got back from a quick trip to Calgary where Crystal and I taught a two-day conference on the craft of writing and getting published for SCBWI. Apparently that was the first conference held by the Society in Calgary and it was an honour to be part of it.
We met lots of fun, enthusiastic writers and I really hope we have a chance to go back next year (or sooner)!
As always, we learned about as much as we taught in the workshops. One of the best tips we got was a website called Preditors and Editors. It’s a gathering place for info about the publishing industry and what you need to look out for – especially when you’re getting started.
Check out the Live Your Dream Workshops site for an extensive list of other writing resources.
